Tree Health and Biosecurity

Wednesday. 4th February. 2-3.30pm. Online. Free

Do you know how to spot a sick tree, or more importantly, how to keep your trees healthy? Join us on 4th February from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM for an essential webinar featuring expert insights from Matt Parratt (Observatree) and Flora Donald (Scottish Forestry). We will dive into the fundamentals of tree health, exploring what makes a tree unhealthy and the specific pests and diseases currently prevalent across Scotland. You’ll learn exactly what to do if you’re concerned about a tree, where to find reliable information, and what the formal process looks like if your trees are found to have a statutory pest or disease.

The second half of our session will focus on proactive protection and the "how-to" of biosecurity. Our speakers will share practical advice, simple tips, and tricks to help you mitigate the spread of infection and minimise risks to our woodlands. From understanding how to stop the spread of disease to implementing effective biosecurity measures on the ground, this session is designed to empower you with the tools needed to safeguard Scotland’s trees. The webinar will conclude with an interactive Q&A session, giving you the chance to put your specific questions directly
