From Idea to Event: Fundraising for Community Woodlands
Wednesday 25th March. 4-5 pm. Online. Free
Thinking about running a fundraising event for your community woodland, but not sure where to start? This practical, conversational session with Sharon Smith, CWA Member Support Officer, will walk through the key steps involved in planning and delivering a successful event - from shaping your initial idea through to making it happen on the day.
We’ll explore how to choose an event that fits your group and your community, plan effectively, communicate clearly, recruit and support volunteers, and manage practical considerations such as permissions, insurance, and risk assessments. There will also be space to reflect on what helps events feel welcoming, safe, and worthwhile for everyone involved.
This is an informal, interactive session, and members are warmly encouraged to come along ready to share their own experiences, lessons learned, and ideas. Whether you are planning your first event or looking to build confidence for future activities, this session aims to help you move forward with clarity and support.
