Winter Newsletter

This edition brings inspiring news from 5 community woodland group (CWG) members.

Read about Broadford and Strath Community Company, and Dunnet Forestry Trust’s experiences of CWA’s professional forestry mentoring scheme. Then, ‘seize the day’ and apply for your CWG to gain a place on cohort 3 - a truly valuable opportunity to get tailored advice and support from an experienced forester.

In August, the first 4 Nature30 sites in Scotland were recognised . We’re perfectly delighted that 3 of them are owned and/or managed by CWA CWG members - Arkaig Community Forest, Blackwood Estate Community Association, and Findhorn Hinterland Trust - so we’ve made a little ‘splash’ about Nature30 in this edition to encourage more CWG members to apply. Read on to find out more about Nature30 - the aims, criteria, and application process - and about the excellent, diverse work happening on these CWG sites.
