Making Sustainable Places: CWA Conference and Seminar
The annual conference for community woodland groups will take place from 8th - 9th November in Glenrothes in Fife. Non member community woodland groups are welcome. The event will feature presentations, workshops and site visits with a ceilidh on Saturday night and the CWA AGM on Sunday afternoon. Click on the link below for further details.
There will also be a seminar for professionals working with community groups on 7th November. Entitled "Green networks, empowered communities" it will focus on community involvement in managing urban woodlands, the benefits to communities and the environment and the ways in which this can be achieved.
Local People Leading
The CWA supports the Local People Leading Campaign. Specifically, Local People Leading calls on the government to commit their support to the following key actions:
Action 1: Put power in the hands of local communities.
Action 2: Review and extend the scope of Land Reform (Scotland) Act.
Action 3: Enable the transfer of public assets into community ownership.
