Mid Deeside Community Trust

The Bell Wood was bought on behalf of the community by Mid Deeside Limited in 2003 after consultation showed that there was a demand for improved public access and a more natural habitat. Also in 2003, Mid Deeside Limited was granted a 99 year lease on the Ladywood on the western side of the village.

Most users of the Bell and Lady Woods will have seen the large numbers of trees and branches that have been blown over in the recent gales. Further damage may occur.

What is apparent is that trees continue to come down for days after the major winds have subsided.

All visitors and users of these woodlands should recognise the high risk of injury from falling branches and trees at all times, but especially now. Those who use the woodlands do so wholly at their own risk.

We will continue to manage the clearance of fallen trees and use any proceeds for the ongoing management of the Bell and Lady Woods.
Naturally, this may take time due to the sheer volume of damaged woodlands such as ours.
