CWA Woodland Advisor - West Central Scotland

The Community Woodland Advisor will provide in-depth development and land management advice and assistance to existing and aspiring community woodland groups, and other CWA member organisations in West Central Scotland.   The post holder will take a leading role in the Community Woodlands Association to raise the media profile of the organisation.
Applicants should have demonstrable experience of working with Community groups preferably with a community woodland or land based remit and a thorough understanding of the regulatory landscape, and the respective roles of the main organisations involved.
CWA is an equal opportunities employer and is funded through Big Lottery Fund, Highlands and Islands Enterprise - CLU and the Forestry Commission Scotland.  This post is funded to June 2010.

Isle of Rum - Countryside Ranger

£16,500 per annum, Fixed Term Appointment of 3 Years

The Isle of Rum Community Trust requires a countryside ranger to work within Kinloch village, Isle of Rum. As Countryside Ranger you will be actively involved in monitoring and surveying of wildlife within the site, meeting and greeting visitors from the ferry, providing information, knowledge and advice to visitors, access improvements, practical conservation work within the village and community involvement in the local environment. The successful candidate will ideally be qualified to further education level in a countryside related subject and must be able to demonstrate skills in habitat management, access improvements, events and interpretation as well as co-ordinating volunteers. A committed individual, you will be well organised, self motivated and able to work on your own initiative. The ability to communicate at all levels with a flexible approach to working hours is necessary.
