The Woodland Trust - Lead Project Officer - Croft Woodlands Project

The Woodland Trust is an ambitious charity, full of passionate people who work hard to protect, plant and care for the UK’s precious woods and trees.

The Role: The Croft Woodlands Project is a partnership initiative between Woodland Trust Scotland, Scottish Crofting Federation and Forestry Commission Scotland. As Lead Project Officer you will be a key member of The Woodland Trust’s Scotland team. You will have responsibility for the day to day delivery of the Croft Woodlands Project in the Highlands, including the Northern Isles. Your aim will be to engage crofters in Woodland Creation and management on their holdings to deliver multiple benefits in terms of shelter, agricultural diversifications, forest products, landscape and environment.

The Candidate: You will be an outstanding relationship builder and communicator, self-motivated and flexible with the ability to manage and organise a varied workload. You’ll have the ability to communicate and enthuse with audiences from a diverse background, whilst being aware and responsive to their drivers and objectives.
You will need to demonstrate a ‘can do’ approach and demonstrate a willingness to develop your own skills and help develop those around you. A company car will be provided for this role and you will be required to undertake travel across a wide area, sometimes to remote locations.
