KIRKTON WOODLAND AND HERITAGE GROUP COMMUNITY FORESTER - LOCHCARRON

Kirkton Woodland and Heritage Group, Lochcarron is looking for a full time Community Forester, committed to sustainable development at a local level, with management experience across a wide range of skills. The successful applicant will lead the development of our 93ha forest operations including harvesting and replanting.

A background in forest, agricultural or recreational management is essential. The individual should be comfortable with community engagement and spending time outdoors as some of the duties will require development, guidance and liaison on the ground.

Whilst the position is funded initially for 18 months, until April 2016, we envisage that income generation from the sale of timber will be available to support the post beyond the initial period. Based on experience, a salary of up to 26k plus 2k to cover expenses incurred in the course of duties is available for the right person. Applications on a job share basis will also be welcomed.
