One year contract, full-time (starting October 2012)
The Mersey Forest Offices, Warrington (WA3 6QX)

Closing date: Wednesday 12th September 2012, noon

Are you an experienced urban forester champing at the bit to further your career?

The Mersey Forest creates new woodlands and helps people reconnect with nature across Merseyside and North Cheshire. So far our partnership has planted almost 9 million trees. Their work ranges from collaborating with deprived communities to plant new street trees, to helping schools to create their own mini-woodlands and use them as outdoor classrooms.

Working alongside their Green Streets Coordinator, you will become involved in delivering key urban regeneration projects across The Mersey Forest. You will liaise with landowners, schools, communities and Mersey Forest colleagues in order to make a difference on the ground. You will organise and manage arboricultural contracts, becoming involved with everything from consulting with local residents to helping a child plant their first tree.

This is a demanding role and accordingly the entry requirements are tough. If you have a degree or relevant experience with proven communication skills across a wide range of audiences, please read on for the full criteria.

If you wish to apply please send your CV and a covering letter explaining exactly why you are applying for the job. Concentrate on how your experience, training and personal qualities match the requirements of the job description and person specification. Reply to: mail@merseyforest.org.uk

They are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applicants from all sections of the community.
