Boat of Garten - Woodlands Ranger

Boat of Garten Community Council has organised a CaperWatch with RSPB and is now looking for a part-time, seasonal ranger, with funding to support this initiative coming from the

The Boat woods are highly valued by the community and are well used by locals and visitors alike with people enjoying a range of activities including walking, cycling and bird watching. The local woodland is also an important area for capercaillie, crested tits and red squirrels. The Woodlands Ranger will help raise awareness of the special nature of the woodlands by meeting and greeting people using the woods and at community events. The ranger will also be asked to collect and collate comments and questions received from users and feed this back regularly to the community to enable it to develop a woodlands action plan.

The role is part-time, averaging 18.5 hours per week, and will run from the beginning of May until 31st August. Tenders are to be submitted no later than 28th April by email to and short-listed applicants will be interviewed in Boat of Garten Community Hall on 2nd May 2012.
