Forestry Commission Scotland - Forest Landscape Design Training Course

1st December - 31st January

Understanding the principles and practicing the process of forest landscape design - as outlined in the UK Forestry Standard (UKFS) Guidelines ‘Forests and Landscape’ - can contribute towards the effective communication and processing of forestry proposals. This two-day classroom based course explains what is meant by ‘landscape’ and demonstrates how the application of design principles can contribute towards the effective preparation of both woodland expansion proposals and the restructuring of an existing forest. The course is structured to combine presentations with practical design exercises.

Courses are currently being planned for locations throughout Scotland during February/March 2017, with the final choice of venues depending on attendee locations and numbers. The cost for attending will be £50, which includes for all materials and refreshments. Attendees, however, will be responsible for their own travel and subsistence costs outside the course hours. If you would like to register your interest to attend one of these courses please email Nicholas Shepherd, Landscape and Culture Advisor, Forestry Commission Scotland: providing your town and region location.
