Transition Stirling - Adding Value to Community Woodlands, Cambusbarron

21st February
10.30am - 4pm

There’s more to woodland value than just generating cash from lorry loads of timber. Traditionally, local woodland supplied a wide range of value. This has included recreational space, cultural events, timber products and food. With a renewed interest in connecting with nature and crafting this resource can once again realise its potential.

Each woodland is different, as is each community. In this workshop we will explore what is achievable taking into account the interests of the community and the local woodland resource.

This one day workshop is based at Cambusbarron Community Centre, St Ninians Road, Cambusbarron. The day will explore how community groups can best utilise woodland to meet their goals.

Case studies will be explored looking at creative uses other communities have found to add value to their resource. A short walk through woodland will examine what potential materials or experiences are feasible. Following the walk we will explore ideas for the community to take forward.

Please use the following link to Eventbrite to reserve your place: Adding Value tickets

Tea & coffee will be provided but please remember to bring your own food, and appropriate clothing for a woodland walk in February!
