Cree Valley Community Woodlands Trust - Winter Tree Identification Day

Learn how to identify trees in their `winter plumage’ by looking at their profiles, bark, twigs and buds, where they are found, which other trees and other plants are associated with them, forms of growth and size.


Meet at 10am at the Galloway Arms Hotel in Newton Stewart

Timetable:

10am – Meet at the Galloway Arms Hotel in Newton Stewart

10 30am – Presentation by Pete Robinson (Ecologist)

12 noon – Lunch (not provided) at a local cafe or bring your own

1pm – Local woodland visit to practice tree identification (car sharing to site)

3pm – Finish and return to Newton Stewart


This is a free event suitable for all.


Please bring suitable outdoor clothing and footwear for the afternoon woodland visit and packed lunch if required.
