Green Aspirations Scotland Workshop Programme

7th August - 26th October

Green Aspirations Scotland was established to assist communities raise their aspirations for a better, vibrant and healthy local environment. They have a new base in Killearn where they will be running workshops in rural skills and personal development. Have a look at their workshop programme, taking bookings NOW! They currently have a great deal available on for a 4 hour session on Bushcraft. Buy a voucher and get in touch!

Family Bushcraft Day - 7th Aug 10-4 (wed) more dates to follow...
£25 adult, £15 child. Please email to book.
An ideal family day out in the woods. We will cook over the campfire, practise green woodworking, build a den and make your own bow and arrow. Lots of bushcraft treats!

Introduction to Charcoal Making - TBC
£45 - Learn how to make your own Charcoal from local wood. Take a bag home to try on your own BBQ!

Introduction to Green Woodworking - 15th Sept 10-4 (sun)
£45 - Experience wood working the old fashioned way. You will learn the basics of whittling, how to use a pole lathe, shave horse and take home the product of your hard work.

Bushcraft (over 14's) - 14th Sept 10-2 (sat)
£45 - Come and have fun in the woods on this one day event where you will get to light fires, build a shelter and campfire cooking. Learn new skills, meet new people and go home with wood smoke in your hair!

Campfire Cooking - 31st Aug 10-2 (sat)
£25 - Learn how to cook on an open fire, build confidence, meet new people and enjoy tasty food in a beautiful woodland setting.

Den building - 31st Aug 10-2 (sat)
£25 - Re-live your childhood (or take part in what you’ve missed!). Experience building a den in the woods using natural materials.

Tree identification - 4th Aug 1-4 (sun)
£25 - Become a tree spotter! Learn the difference between native and non-native species, our uses for trees and their characteristics.

Coppice Management - 26th Oct 10-4 (sat) & 7th Dec 10-4 (sat)
£45 - Come and learn about coppicing, what it is and why you should do it! This one day workshop will look at the historical context, coppice products and practical coppice cutting. We will explore the biodiversity of coppice sites, a range of uses for coppice products, tools and techniques.
