Is your group faced with challenges of setting up and managing a community woodland in coastal areas? Would you be interested in learning more about the basics of setting up woodland surveying sites, selecting species, planning wild orchards and wildflower sites, combating threats (from vandalism, wildlife, salt spray, landslip, erosion and others) - then this intensive one-day practical training is for you.

The training will be focused on the case study of CLEAR Buckhaven, a community group which is making progress in a challenging environment on the Fife Coast, adjoining the Coastal Path. Places are limited and time is short so book now.

Wear sturdy boots and waterproof clothing. Simple lunch and refreshments provided.

Aim: This one day workshop aims to give delegates a basic understanding of coastal woodland management including:
• Woodland surveying & creation; establishing the current condition and woodland type, tree species inc foraging and regeneration
• Access & Interpretation; discussing options and establishing need
• Habitat & wildlife corridors; conserving and creating areas for biodiversity
