Coppicing and Hurdle Making Course, Kilchoan, West Ardnamurchan

23rd February - 24th February

Come and learn the traditional crafts of coppicing and hurdle making in one of Scotland’s most beautiful locations. Visit one of the last remnants of Atlantic Oakwoods and learn how to coppice in a way that is sensitive to the rare, local environment and in line with SNH recommendations for the area. After a morning collecting your own materials, the rest of the course will focus on making hurdles.

The course is being run by the West Highland College and delivered by experienced instructor Peter Holmes of Rural Skills Training. To register or find out more please contact Pat Glenday, Rural Learning Manager - West Highland College UHI – Kilchoan on 01397 874260 or email (range of local accommodation available to book). The cost of the course is £100 (ILA eligible).
