Kilfinan Community Forest ‘Tree to Table’ Forest Event

30th July
Kilfinan Community Forest cordially invite you their ‘Tree to Table’ Forest Event on Saturday 30th July 2011. The ‘Tree to Table ‘ Forest Event, between 12pm and 5pm, will be a chance to explore the Kilfinan Community Forest's inspirational 'Growing Green' Project and meet some of those involved in this Project which is supported by the Climate Challenge Fund - from members of the Board of Directors to volunteers and the Project Team.

The Forest will be ‘open for business’ from noon, then at 12.30pm there will be a grand opening of the Polytunnel and allotment site by Michael Russell, MSP for Argyll and Bute. Throughout the afternoon there will be lots of forestry craft demonstrations including milling and chainsaw carving, lots of kids activities, delicious refreshments and at 2pm the wonderful ‘Walking Theatre Company’ will be performing a spiffing piece with a glorious World War 2 theme followed by a cooking demonstration using ingredients from a forage in the forest.

They hope you will be able to join them - with lots to see and do and combined with our Local Produce Market this promises to be a great family day out in the Community Forest and a key opportunity to explore the work of this vibrant and community focused organisation.

A poster for the event has been attached for your information. To RSVP or to find out more about this event please contact Sara Maclean, Carbon Savings Project Officer or to Jean Donaldson, Project Administrator, on 01700 811159 or at

Kilfinan Community Forest gratefully acknowledges funding for this event from the Climate Challenge Fund; further funding has also been received from Forestry Commission Scotland as part of the United Nations ‘International Year of Forests’ global celebrations.
